Box Tops for Education
Yes, we do still collect Box Tops for Georgetown School. Each classroom has a labeled box where students can make their donation. Additionally, the office has a box where you may drop off your Box Top donations.
See www.boxtops4education.com for details on the program.
Additionally you can increase the points we collect by downloading their app and scanning in your grocery receipts.
We’ve set our goal of $1000 this school year. We can do it!
During certain times in school year, we know our school staff is working extra hard to take care of our students. During those times, we arrange dinners or lunches for the staff to show our appreciate for their time and effort.
Similarly, we provide students with snacks for extra energy during testing time or to celebrate special occasions.
During those times, we ask our parents/guardians to bring food in for a buffet or for snack supplies.
The Scholastic Book Fair is scheduled two to three times a year on campus. Parents/guardians/adults volunteer their time to run the register and help the children with finding books. The children are asked to leave their backpacks at the door.
We ask that children, who bring their piggy bank money (coins), have the coins counted ahead of time and placed in a baggy. A note must be placed in the bag with the child’s name, teacher’s name, and amount of money in the bag. Volunteers will able to get the children through purchasing more quickly using this method.
Proceeds from sales are used to buy books for the library, classrooms, and prizes for reading programs. Please contact the school office for times that you can volunteer.
(NOTE: If you have not worked at the book fair before, please let them know so that training can be arranged for you as well.)

As the winter break draws near, the community donates gently used gifts for the Georgetown Cubs Holiday Boutique. The students will have the chance to buy gifts for their family using school money.
The students not only have the chance to buy gifts but they help younger students to buy and wrap their gifts as well.
Adult volunteers are always needed to setup, supervise, and close out this yearly endeavor. This year the boutique is planned for December 18 – 22. Come back to learn about dates/times you can help.
During March Reading Month, we arrange and manage a book exchange for the students. Georgetown families are encouraged to donate in their old, well-cared for books. The books are then sorted by volunteers. Later the students can come in and find books for their reading level that they can take home (for free).
